My work focuses on changes in landscape and biodiversity and how to measure them. From local fieldwork to continental-wide analysis I investigate how land-use, land-cover, ecosystems and species vary through time. I have a particular interest in land abandonment, spontaneous forest development and restoration, especially rewilding. These dynamics highlight the interconnections between humans and ecosystems which are central to my research.
My engagement
I am active since 2018 in associations at local, national, and European level to improve the living and working conditions of early career researchers. Check the work of CJC and Eurodoc, and get involved in the Researcher Mental Health Observatory and the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment.
